Two Fall Holidays this Weekend

Tuesday, October 27, 2009

The leaves are falling, there's a chill in the air, and this means that Fall is fast approaching. This weekend, our community will celebrate two important October holidays. This Saturday is Halloween, so many of you are getting ready to dress up and eat candy all night long. But before your night full of spooky fun, come and celebrate Halloween with your neighbors. After all, you might as well eat something healthy before filling up on sugar! On Sunday, our Latino community will celebrate Dia de los Muertos, another festive and important holiday that is focused on remembering and praying for those who have passed away. Last week market vendor Tu Universo Organics brought large bunches of marigolds that are perfect for decorating your altar. Think about stopping by this week to pick up some of your own. Even though fall is in the air, here in the Bay Area we have been blessed with warm weather that should continue through the weekend. Let's enjoy our community farmer's market while the sunshine lasts!
