Good afternoon . . .
Your farmers' market knows you're smart. Like a crow with an eye to the sky, you knew this big storm was coming, so it was easier than a piece of (Watsonville carrot) cake. Downpour? You've got rain boots. Wind gusts? Good thing you trimmed back that tree last month.
But did you know that your farmers' market is open rain or shine? Well, we are. It's part of the reason why we've got that gigantic white tent out every Saturday afternoon. When the skies turn cloudy, under that tent is the friendliest and driest place in the entire parking lot of 2415 University. Trust us, it is. Only very extreme weather (even more extreme than that of this past Tuesday) will postpone our operations. Hey, we've all got to eat!
Come see for yourself this Saturday (the forecast calls for glorious rays of sunshine). The affordable fun begins at 2pm, and lasts, as always, until 5pm. We expect to have a scrumptious assortment of delicious fruits and vegetables, including:
* taro root and leaves (have you tried them yet?);
* fresh peanuts (you roast them how you like them);
* tasty sugarcane (yum yum yum);
* purslane and bitter melon (the nutritional benefits are beyond description);
* rainbow chard (not just pretty to look at);
* juicy apples (with persimmons not too far behind!);
* organic yellow corn (the delicious kind);
* organic peppers (serrano and bell), lettuce, and cabbage (yum, yum, yum and yum);
* sweet potatoes;
* jicama;
* okra (come early for the best selection);
* heirloom tomatoes (sweet and juicy);
* freshly-made hummos and other Mediterranean snacks (made right in Belmont, and perfect for appetizers and healthy snacks);
* strawberries (arrive early before they sell out);
* yummy honey (ask Transito Zamudio);
* nopales, chayote, basil, cilantro, cucumbers, broccoli, mint, onions, greens, and other vegetables; and
* much more!
EBT/food stamps, WIC and Senior FMNP checks always accepted.
* EBT: the market accepts EBT/food stamps every Saturday.
* WIC: we're happy to accept WIC FMNP market coupons.
* EPA Fresh Checks: if eligible, we'll give you $5 to spend at the Market. For more information, click here.

Hola . . .
* raíz de taro;
* cacahuates frescos;
* caña de azúcar;
* jicama;
* verdolaga;
* manzanas;
* maíz orgánico;
* nuevas verduras orgánicas, incluyendo broccolini, ejotes, zanahoria (big), lechuga, chile (serrano y bell), remolacha, y repollo;
* pimientas;
* miel dulce;
* tomates;
* fresas;
* vegetales latinos y orgánicos ; y
* mucho más!
Siempre aceptamos EBT/food stamps, WIC y Senior FMNP checks.
