NOW OPEN every Saturday, July 17th, 2-5pm at the EPA YMCA, 550 Bell Street

Yes, we are open!

Saturday, September 5, 2009

Yes yes, we are open this weekend, and absolutely thrilled to feature produce grown right here in East Palo Alto. Food doesn't take a Labor Day off, so stop by and pick up what you need for that BBQ. We recommend the yellow corn (for grilling), watermelon (for juicy eating) and peaches (for dessert).

Food Justice Leaders will be on hand to sell delicious chemical- and pesticide-free produce, grown right here in East Palo Alto at the charter school. They'll have (just for you) the following items: green beans, eggplants, fresh-cut flowers, collard greens, tomatoes (heirloom and cherry), three different types of basil, hot peppers, dinosaur kale and much more. Be sure to come early for the best selection.

In addition, we expect to have:

  • organic veggies, including broccolini, watercress, heirloom carrots (big and purple!), and lettuce;
  • plus, organic peppers (serrano and bell), golden beets, and cabbage (yum, yum, yum and yum);
  • tomatoes! (they're getting juicier and juicier);
  • freshly-made hummos and other Mediterranean snacks (made right in Belmont, and perfect for appetizers);
  • white peaches, nectarines, and pluots (try them!);
  • strawberries (from Salinas);
  • delicious apples;
  • yummy honey;
  • corn (the organic kind);
  • watermelon;
  • chayote, basil, cilantro, cucumbers, broccoli, mint, onions, greens, and other vegetables; and
  • much more!
